Arielle in Okinawa

Back in August, we heard the Okinawa Prefectural Museum was hosting a special robot exhibit.  Since we had been planning on going to the museum sometime, it seemed like a great time to go.

We really enjoyed walking through the museum and learning more about Okinawa’s history through the eyes of the Okinawans.  And I love, love, loved the lighted floor no-maintenance “aquarium” they had at the entrance to the museum.

They did a great job replicating the sea floor (without water), including lots of kinds of fish and sea creatures.  Wonder if we could do awesome sci-fi memorabilia dioramas in the floor of our future house?  Wouldn’t have to worry about having tons of shelf space…hmmmm….

The robot exhibit wasn’t as exciting as we had hoped, but we were still glad we went and we thoroughly enjoyed the main museum.  We’re enjoying continuing to learn more about the people, the history, and the unique culture of Okinawa!
