Tortise wins the race...again!

I got a call from the Shipping Office on Friday, asking me to come in and provide them with maps and paperwork for our first shipment.  We were so excited and couldn't wait to get our own pillows again!  After getting the paperwork straightened out and setting up a delivery date of Monday (yesterday), the lady said, "Enjoy your household goods!" as I was leaving.  That stopped me in my tracks.  Househhold goods?!  What?!  No, this was our Expedited Shipment, wasn't it?!  Nope.  Turns out, in perfect correlation to the fable, the Household Goods shipment arrived first.  Tortise wins again!  (Or in this case, the boat was faster than the plane.  Go figure!)

The delivery company came on Monday and got everything unloaded from the big shipping crate and up to our 4th floor apartment in record time!  We've been thoroughly impressed by the speed and strength of the Japanese moving companies!  It's amazing to see how much some of these guys can haul about and how efficiently they all work.  All our Household Goods shipment things are here now, and we're slowly opening boxes and putting things where we want them to go.  It's a very strange feeling to go from a relatively bare apartment to all sorts of kitchenware items, a wide variety of clothes to chose from, and a great entertainment system again.  (We are going to have to find a large capacity "Step Up" power transformer to run the wonderful entertainment system, though, as Brandon's beloved TV and all the other related electronics run on 120V, not 100V.  But it still makes our living room look more "living room like" even if we can't use it yet.)

Our Expedited Shipment is supposed to arrive sometime in the next two weeks.  We'll be glad to have everything here, and get things really situated.

So, tortise wins again.  We're very glad to have our things.  And we were very thankful for the beautiful, sunshiney day today!

But alas, our pillows are still en route somewhere.  :)
